HEL YES! is a temporary restaurant and exhibition imagined and realised by a creative team of Finnish designers and food visionaries; led by Antto Melasniemi together with Mia Wallenius and Klaus Haapaniemi. HEL YES! will be unveiled 15 September 2010 in a former depot in East London. For 14 days it will serve as a melting pot of people and ideas during London Design Festival and I have my table booked for next Friday.

Here is the second installation of  the King Ken Mini collection. The signature character from London-based artist James Jarvis, ’King Ken’ is the most popular character among other characters from Amos Toys. The “King Ken” mini collection 2 is upgraded with new colors and features, available in six colours including one secret version. Come complete with a blind box, so you will not know what color you get until you open the box the collection is available from Amos Toys stockists in Japan now while stockists in the UK will follow shortly.

Here is Canon’s update to their S90 camera, the S95.  It’s a great alternative to the G-range and looks small and slick with a nice Matt Black finish.

“The S95 update in late August to last year’s S90 combines Canon’s DIGIC 4 image processing, a 10-megapixel high-sensitivity CCD sensor, and wide f/2.0 lens to enhance image quality and reduce noise at high ISO levels without resorting to a flash. It features a new high dynamic range (HDR) mode, 720p video recording, and mini HDMI for throwing that video up to the living room flat screen. the S95 is also the first PowerShot to feature Hybrid IS image stabilization to help with macro shots.”

Definitely one to watch out for and i’ll be closely watching initial reviews myself, as I need an new camera for my Stockholm trip in September.

Thought provoking… is it time to get some new ink?

This watch has landed on my radar for purchase.  Designed as an everyday wristwatch, the 100 series is inspired by the form and graphic detailing of wall clocks from British Industry. This timepiece now features a machined aircraft grade aluminium case, 3ATM water resistance, PU rubber strap and precision Japanese made quartz movement.   I think i’m in love; all thats needed is to make up my mind which colour to go for.

Nike Sportswear are about to launch a small collection of footwear as part of their collaboration with Maharam.  First up is a selection of Air Mocs in Black, Faded Taupe and Red Plum.  Available from 1948 and other key stockists from early September.

So, here we have the Nike Lunarwood.  A combination of the ACG Wildwood from the late 80′s and the Lunar Glide running shoe from 2009.  These shoes actually formed  for the first time last December through a Tier Zero collaboration with Wood Wood.  The shoe itself is designed to combat the tough outdoors combined with the support and comfort of the dynamic support from the Lunar Glide.  All in all, this is the shoe to take you trekking round scandinavia through any weather condition and would come out unharmed. In my opinion, these are going to be a big winner amongst true streetwear and outdoor wear fans. Possibly not one for those fashionistas at Fashion Week.  Available from key Nike Sportswear accounts from early October.

Nike Sportswear have continued their partnership with Pendleton as part of their Fall 2010 Collection including pieces such as this ACG down vest and a wool shirt. Both of course feature uppers made of authentic Pendleton wool, but this time with a more subtle approach, with both pieces coming in a dark grey without the usual use of colorful Pendleton patterns.  A Backpack is also set to follow in keeping with a dark colourscheme and neon zip detail.
